At Pacific Surrogacy and Egg Donation, we strive to make your journey to parenthood as smooth as possible. Navigating the journey to parenthood through surrogacy or egg donation can be both exciting and complex. This page is designed to provide intended parents with information on the necessary requirements for pursuing surrogacy and/or becoming an egg donor recipient. It is important to understand the medical, legal, and psychological prerequisites for a successful pregnancy so that you are well-prepared for each step of your path to parenthood.
Eligibility Criteria
For Surrogacy
- Age: Intended parents should typically be between 21 and 55 years old. For ethical reasons and consistent with most U.S. clinics, the maximum age is 55 for a single parent or a combined age of 110 for couples. This helps ensure a stable and supportive environment for the child.
- Health: Intended parents must be in good health, capable of supporting the surrogacy process. This includes a medical history review and physical examination to ensure they can manage the demands of parenthood.
General Requirements
- Stable Relationship: We welcome all individuals and couples. Those in relationships should demonstrate stability and mutual commitment, providing a secure environment for the child. We will discuss your support network and home stability during the initial consultation.
- Financial Stability: Intended parents must have the financial means to support the surrogacy and/or egg donation process, covering medical, legal, and associated costs. A clear financial plan helps alleviate stress and ensures preparedness for the journey.
Medical and Psychological Requirements
PSED will provide industry professional referrals which include; IVF doctor, psychologist, insurance specialist, attorneys, et.
- Once you and the surrogate decide to move forward it is time for the surrogate’s psychological and medical screenings. All of our surrogates have been pre-screened medically. However, the full medical screening will take place once it is established that you are moving forward together.

- Support System: A strong support system is essential. Family, friends, and professionals can provide emotional and practical support. This network helps manage the emotional highs and lows of the process, ensuring intended parents are not facing the journey alone. For single parents, identifying a primary support person early is crucial.
Embryo Quality
- Embryo Assessment: It is vital for Intended parents to have a clear understanding of the number and quality of their embryos after creation. This information will also be shared with the surrogate prior to solidifying a match.
By meeting these requirements, you help ensure a positive and successful surrogacy or egg donation experience. We are here to support you every step of the way on your journey to parenthood.
